‘illustrating the mind’
Work made during final BA - illustration, 2021 portfolio
My degree focused on therapeutic forms of illustration leading to abstract paintings, the purpose of the work was to form expression, I used a ranged of mixed media, but for final submission I made a collection of paintings made up of ink, acrylic, crushed shells, liquidex and bleach - I also explored some digital work mixing both photography and traditional paintings.

Ink, acrylic, Seashells on Paper. 40x40cm.

SOLD -Ink, Acrylic, bleach and Seashells/Cuttlefish bone. 71x50cm
Colour & Texture: rust on sand
Through research my main aim was to identify emotional and link to artwork, this was influenced not only by artist research and psychology but also location. Walking through the Norfolk coastlines there are rich and raw pigment found in the cliff sides, ranging in chalk and clay material, I experimented with crushing these pigment to make my own paint
My goal became to illustrate a narrative of inner conflict, and create a purpose within a location.
